Two Poems By: Christopher Mulrooney

This week's new writing comes via Los Angeles in the form of two new poems by Christopher Mulrooney

flyting

here I have had you back and forth

on the common hearthrug more times than you’ve had

celebratory dinners with your colleagues in the media

and still the sour pickles of a gesture I get from you

still the cold wind in the palm trees face averted

grievance

the players and the performance have been delayed

by a snowstorm check that sandstorm

just a minute bad weather of some kind

brewing up they say the Taj Mahal

has a certain glow at teatime

Christopher Mulrooney is the author of toy balloons (Another New Calligraphy) and Rimbaud (Finishing Line Press). His work has recently appeared in London Grip, streetcake magazine, and Poetry Ireland Review.
