Lou Reed – Transformer

When I joined Yorkie’s band Ho Ho Bacteria in 1978, I had the luxury of him brainwashing me with some of the finest albums around. Ranging from Cabaret Voltaire to Marlene Dietrich live in London. One of the early ones was Forever Changes which I took to immediately. Another that stopped me in my tracks was Transformer. I’d heard ‘Walk On The Wild Side’ like everyone else, but the rest of the album blew me away. I only heard it again recently for the first time in years and it’s got to be right up there.
