Looper are reissuing their debut album, 1999’s Up A Tree.

Originally released via Sub Pop, this 25th anniversary reissue of the record will come via Mute, and will feature remixes, reworks, new sleeve notes and alternative artwork. It will be released on transparent green vinyl, as well as on double-CD and digitally. You can listen to a new version of album track ‘Columbo’s Car’, which will appear on the new release of the record, above.

Looper was launched by Belle & Sebastian’s Stuart David, together with wife Karn David, in 1998. They recruited two additional members to the project, Ronnie Black and Scott Twynholm, shortly before recording Up A Tree. "I wanted to expand on the spoken word style I’d discovered on [Belle & Sebastian tracks] ‘A Century Of Elvis’ and ‘Spaceboy Dream’," Stuart David said of forming Looper, "and technology had just reached a point where I thought it might be possible to make an album entirely on the PC."

Mute will release Up A Tree on March 8, 2024.
