Prince’s Album ‘Diamonds And Pearls’ Set For Deluxe Reissue

The updated release of the 1991 album will include 47 previously unreleased songs

Prince & The New Power Generation’s 1991 album Diamonds And Pearls is to be given an expanded reissue this October.

The updated release of the album will include the full original album in remastered form, in addition to 47 previously unreleased songs that were originally recorded around the time of the album’s release and have been unearthed from the late artist’s vast archives by The Prince Estate. Remixes and B-sides from the time of the album’s release round out the musical offering on the set.

The reissue also comes with a 120-page book of photos and essays, as well as a Chuck D foreword. Finally, there is a Dolby Atmos mix of the album on Blu-ray, in addition to two hours of concert footage (both audio and video) shot at Prince’s Minneapolis club, Glam Slam, in 1992. The set will be available in both 7xCD and 12xLP editions. To mark its announcement, The Prince Estate have shared one of the 47 previously unreleased tracks, ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’, which you can listen to above.

NPG will release Diamonds And Pearls on October 27, 2023.
