'Australian Carnage - Live At The Sydney Opera House' was captured across three nights in December 2022

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are set to release a live album based around their 2021 collaborative record, Carnage.

Set for release later this week on streaming services and as a digital download, Australian Carnage - Live At The Sydney Opera House captures 18 tracks that the duo performed live across three nights at the Sydney Opera House in December 2022. It will also be made available as a truncated vinyl release, featuring eight tracks captured across the Sydney shows, on December 1.

For the shows in Sydney, as well as other appearances across Australia, Cave and Ellis were joined by Radiohead's Colin Greenwood and regular Bad Seed Larry Mullins, plus backing vocalists Wendi Rose, Janet Ramus and T Jae Cole, for the run of shows. You can listen to 'Balcony Man' from the live album just above.

In a statement, Cave said: "Touring Australia with Warren after so much time away was one of the highlights of recent years. Every show was moving and unforgettable, from the intimacy of playing in theatres and arts centres, to the vast and uplifting nights at Hanging Rock, through to our final three nights at the inimitable Sydney Opera House. We are excited to share these recordings, made at the Sydney Opera House, and hope they capture even a tenth of the collective elation we felt at those shows. We'll never forget them."

Goliath Records will release Australian Carnage - Live At The Sydney Opera House on August 25, 2023.
