It's part of the duo's 10th anniversary celebrations of their final album, 'Random Access Memories'

Daft Punk have launched a new video series which focuses on the collaborators who appeared on their 2013 final album, Random Access Memories.

The series, titled Memory Tapes, will feature eight episodes and sees a number of the guest artists who appeared on Random Access Memories share their memories of the recording process, and explore the impact that the album and Daft Punk have had on their own careers, and on music more generally. It comes after the French duo announced their split in 2021.

Interviews for Memory Tapes were recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles and Gang Studios in Paris, in spaces where a lot of 'Random Access Memories' was recorded. The episodes also feature archival footage and never-seen-before studio footage of Daft Punk as they worked on the album.

The first two episodes, which you can watch above and below, are online now and feature interviews with The Strokes' Julian Casablancas and pianist Chilly Gonzales respectively. Further episodes will include contributions from Pharrell Williams; Todd Edwards; Animal Collective's Panda Bear; and Nile Rodgers, among others.

Memory Tapes comes amid a flurry of activity from Daft Punk this year as they mark a decade since the release of Random Access Memories. In May, they reissued the album together with 35 minutes of rare and unheard bonus material.

In April, one-half of the duo, Thomas Bangalter, released a solo album, Mythologies.
