Michael Jackson – Thriller

Thriller is the album that I’ve listened to probably the most. I’ve always been obsessed with it. When you're mixing records, often you'll put a reference track on just so you can compare, and Thriller I think is just the greatest sounding record of all time. So I'm always playing it in the studio, if I want to reference, like how the drums are relating to a synth bass line I'll stick on ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something’ and it just sparks inspiration. I’m always discovering something new within it as well, which I think is amazing. I also really liked the whole story of Rod Temperton, who was a guy from Lincolnshire who worked on the album. He wrote all the hits on Thriller, but he's just a bloke from Lincoln, you know?
