Venue operator Broadwick Live has relaunched North London venue The Drumsheds in a new space as DRUMSHEDS.
The venue had originally closed in 2022, but has now been refreshed following the recent closure of another of Broadwick Live’s London spaces Printworks. Based in North London’s Meridian Water zone, DRUMSHEDS will now be housed in a space close to the former The Drumsheds, and will have a capacity of 15,000 people. In addition to club events and live gigs, it will provide a home for exhibitions, fashion shows and other activities.
Much like the industrial feel of a number of Broadwick Live’s other spaces, including Printworks, the 608,000 square-foot building housing DRUMSHEDS will maintain many of its original features, including old lift shafts, loading bays and parts of machinery. It was formerly a branch of IKEA.
"Broadwick’s mission has always been to build brands that deliver unrivaled, live experiences that create real impact," said Broadwick Live’s Simeon Aldred. "We want DRUMSHEDS, like all the spaces we create, to be a new centre of cultural gravity that provides the basis for human connection. A connection that people crave now more than ever."
DRUMSHEDS’ opening programme of "culture events" will be announced in the coming months. In order to keep informed, you can sign up to the venue’s mailing list.
