It's the inaugural release on her new label, Awe

Laurel Halo is releasing a new album, Atlas.

Spanning 10 tracks, Halo's first full-length album in five years marks the first release on her new label, Awe. It's described in a press release as "the product of a few years' research into electroacoustic sound design and piano practice," with much of the featured material having been sketched out during a 2021 residency at the Ina-GRM Studios in Paris. The record features contributions from saxophonist Bendik Giske, violinist James Underwood, cellist Lucy Railton and vocalist Coby Sey.

To mark the album's announcement, Halo has shared lead cut 'Belleville', which was recorded in one take in Paris during the spring of 2021. Combining piano and vibraphone, it also features vocal contributions from Coby Sey. You can listen to the new cut just above.

Halo will debut Atlas with a new live show based around the album at this year's Berlin Atonal in September. She will follow that gig with shows in Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Bochum and Philadelphia through the rest of that month.

Awe will release Atlas on September 22, 2023.
