Michael Rault – ‘New Day Tonight’ from It’s A New Day Tonight

We met some years ago. I designed a tape cover for him, and then I did the artwork for It’s a New Day Tonight and did all his press photos. I've made music videos for him in the past as well. Our collaboration first started as me being an artist for him and translating what he wanted. And then In A Poem Unlimited started. It was initially going to be Michael playing everything. I started demoing with him, and the demos were him playing drums, bass and doing backing vocals. He's this wonder human, and the only person I know who's like a true soul musician. He is from another time.

But then I ended up getting a full band on Poem. He still played bass and guitar on it. It’s kind of a no brainer. Now, if I'm making music, Michael is going to be on it because he's so talented and good at translating. He understands all your references. We just saw him play in Toronto. I hadn’t seen him in years. It's like he got injected with guitar steroids or something. I don't even know it's possible because he's already so good. I wept.
