Note comes with a range of synth sounds, drum kits and other elements

Ableton has launched a new iOS app, which will allow people to sketch music ideas on the go.

Note, which is available now on Apple's App Store for £4.99, comes with a selection of Ableton Live's drum kits, synth sounds and melodic instruments, while it also includes effects such as reverb, delay and chorus-ensemble. The app is specifically designed to help music-makers in the early stages of developing new productions.

The app's production workstation includes a 25-pad melody grid and piano roll, as well as a 16-pad percussion grid. Users can also record up to 60 seconds of their own audio into the app's sampler. When the user is finished with their sketch, they can export it to Ableton Live via Ableton Cloud. They also have the option of opening it in Note's Session View, which allows you to combine, duplicate and arrange ideas before exporting and sharing the files.
