Brunnen – Sometimes My Arms Bend Back

This sounds like a classic record to my ears. It's super catchy, as catchy as anything on commercial radio, which I don't really listen to. It has classic pop hooks that feel deeply familiar while at the same time it doesn't sound cliché or reductive. The songs almost sound like nursery rhymes. There's a real simplicity to the instrumentation and the repeated phrases, and the lyrics are sung very gently, like someone right up close whispering in your ear and lulling you to sleep. There's even a white noise breakdown on one of the tracks, a sound I'm deeply familiar with now after going through the newborn phase with my daughter!
