Texan maniac Shit And Shine’s 2005 album Ladybird has been remastered for a first-time vinyl reissue due next month.
The album, which was initially made available on limited edition red vinyl in 2007, will be reissued on dirty white vinyl with new sleeve art courtesy of Steve Gullick and a beefy remaster done by Shit And Shine’s Craig Clouse. The release is limited to 300 copies. and pre-orders are available now via Bandcamp. You can stream the first side of the remastered album just below.
Recorded at London’s Southern Studios in 2004 with an entire kit list comprising of two bass guitars, a snare drum, a cardboard box and a Casio SA-1 keyboard on ‘airplane’ sound, Ladybird offers 41-minutes of prime psychedelic noise punk.
In a statement about the album, Riot Season, the label overseeing the reissue, said: "Ladybird [is] one perfect heavy as fuck hypnotic riff played over and over and over and over across two sides of an LP. Back when Shit And Shine formed, the idea was basically to sound like their heroes Drunks With Guns and Strangulated Beatoffs, using that same basic formula. A big dumb ass catchy riff played over and over until the joke gets old… then keep going. Some still say it’s the best thing Shit And Shine has ever done. I’m not arguing."
Riot Season will release Ladybird on August 19, 2022.
