Supersonic Unveils 2022 Extra Curricular Program

tQ will be hosting a series of rooftop DJ sessions as part of this year's event

Supersonic has unveiled the Extra Curricular Program for its 2022 edition, which will cover talks, workshops, exhibitions and more.

BBC Radio 6 Music’s Stuart Maconie will oversee talks with Richard Dawson and Jerusalem In My Heart’s Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, while writer Rosie Solomon will speak to tQ contributor JR Moores about his recent book, Electric Wizards. There will be a discussion panel on ‘The Art of Collaboration’, featuring Jessika Khazrik, Elizabeth Bernholz (AKA Gazelle Twin), and NYX’s Sian O’Gorman.

tQ will also host a series of rooftop DJ sessions, that will see us joined by the likes of UKAEA; Alannah Chance and Jennifer Lucy Allan of BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction; tQ contributor Noel Gardner; and a concept that our own John Doran and tQ contributor JR Moores are calling Naked Brunch. Other rooftop DJ sessions will see Stuart Maconie’s Freaky Disco come to the festival, with special guests Divide And Dissolve and Radawn Ghazi Moumneh.

Elsewhere, the Print Matters exhibition will showcase the political and social power of DIY publishing, taking in works by Black Lodge Press, Foka Wolf, Gee Vaucher, Dog Section Press, La Linterna and Lucy McLauchlan. Workshops will cover topics such as building your own synth and making Riso posters.

Alongside all of this, Supersonic will take in previously announced sets from the likes of Richard Dawson & Circle, The Bug & Flowdan, Divide And Dissolve, BIG|BRAVE, and Holy Tongue, among others. Jerusalem In My Heart and Decolonise Fest have also been enlisted to guest curate part of this year’s lineup.

Supersonic will take place from July 8 to 10, 2022. Find more information here.
