Ride Outline Reissue Plans For Early EPs And Albums

The EPs 'Ride', 'Play', 'Fall', and 'Today Forever' are all getting re-released, in addition to two albums

Ride are reissuing their first four EPs, as well as their first two studio albums, 1990’s Nowhere and 1992’s Going Blank Again.

Out in November, all of the records have been remastered for the reissues, which will be made available on vinyl, CD and digital formats. The four EPs that will be reissued are Ride, Play, Fall, and Today Forever, all originally released between 1989 and 1991. They will be packaged together in one set as 4 EPs, and pressed on double white vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. Nowhere and Going Blank Again, also in gatefold sleeves, will be pressed on blue and double orange vinyl respectively.

The reissues will follow on from Ride’s live tour through this year in support of Nowhere‘s 30th anniversary, which was due to take place in 2020 before being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The band will also release a live film of them performing Nowhere, which will debut via livestream platform Moment House on October 28. Find more information on the film here.

Speaking about the tour and reissues, Ride’s Andy Bell said in a statement: "We were really looking forward to getting out and touring the 30th anniversary of Nowhere<.i> back in 2020. Then the pandemic hit and delayed our plans, but here we are in 2022 and we are still buzzing about getting out on the road, if anything, more so than before.

"We feel that Nowhere is a debut album worth celebrating, and as well as the tour, we’ve decided to start pressing new editions of the vinyl from the original Ride era. The first batch not only includes Nowhere, but also Going Blank Again, and an album we’ve created out of the first 4 EPs. This new album has given us a chance to create some new (but old school) Ride artwork, in conjunction with the team at Wichita, which we are pretty pleased with."

Wichita will release 4 EPs, Nowhere and Going Blank Again on November 4, 2022.
