Beverly Glenn-Copeland – Keyboard Fantasies

A bunch of my friends are actually in Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s band. In Toronto, it’s wild how sometimes people in the community are also legends.

My partner brought Keyboard Fantasies home when it first got reissued by a small Toronto-based label. When that reissue came out, everyone I knew was listening to it, but it still felt like a secret. That’s one aspect of what I love about it. There’s so much to love about this record, though. There’s the beautiful innocence throughout the songs that’s not innocent, you know? It’s full of love and beauty and that comes through so clearly. Of course, there’s also so much beauty in the arrangements. It’s just such a loving record.

It’s a beacon for all the people making music that they think no one will ever hear.
