Castle Music – You Can’t Take Anyone

I wondered if I should include this record because it’s not that widely available, but it’s important to me. You Can’t Take Anyone is by Jennifer Castle when she was recording and releasing music as Castle Music.

This record made a huge impression on me lyrically. Musically, it’s very simple in terms of arrangement but the lyrics and her presence across the songs made me feel understood for the first time. I understand this music, even though it’s kind of strange. I’m such a big fan of Jennifer Castle. Her voice and words have been with me for my whole adult life.

It’s funny, she’s someone I know and have toured with but in my heart she’s one of my heroes. Someone I’ve always looked-up to and am so grateful that her music exists in a way that I can’t even articulate!
