Supersonic Completes 2022 Music Lineup

Divide And Dissolve and BIG|BRAVE are among the latest additions to the bill for the Birmingham festival

Supersonic has unveiled the complete music bill for its 2022 edition this July.

Having previously confirmed headline appearances from Richard Dawson & Circle and The Bug & Flowdan, as well as sets from Föllakzoid, Thou, No Home and more, the Birmingham festival has now added Divide And Dissolve, BIG|BRAVE, Holy Tongue, Pharaoh Overlord with Aaron Turner, GROVE, Orchestra Of Constant Distress and Shovel Dance Collective, among others, to the bill. Emptyset’s Paul Purgas will also unveil a new work commissioned by Supersonic, which will combine the reel-to-reel tape experiments of the Radiophonic Workshop with musique concrète.

Supersonic also last year revealed that Jerusalem In My Heart and Decolonise Fest were on board as guest curators for this year’s event. The former’s Radawn Ghazi Moumneh has invited Palestinian producer/rapper Bint7alal, Belgian improvisational artist Farida Amadou, and digital media artist Jessika Khazrik (appearing alongside 3D/real-time visual artist Nurah Farahat) to play at the festival. Jerusalem In My Heart’s Erin Weisgerber will also be screening a series of short films.

For their curated programme, the team behind London’s Decolonise Fest have invited Shopping and Trash Kit’s Rachel Aggs, hardcore punk group Nekra, Zimbabwe-via-Ireland artist PRNCSS, and DJ Awkward Black Girl – who will play a selection of rock, R&B, soul, funk, garage and disco records – to appear at the festival.

A number of talks, film screenings and workshops will be added to the programme in the coming months.

Supersonic will take place from July 8 to 10, 2022. Find more information here.
