Meredith Monk And Colin Walcott – Dolman Music

Meredith Monk has always been seen as an avant garde and experimental artist, but how I’d describe her is wonderfully ordinary and truthful. To me, she always came across as someone who could access their core of humanity without being influenced by the culture and world around us. As for this particular, I actually only got introduced to it recently – though I’ve been listening to her music for a long time – and it makes me realise that Meredith Monk is a great example of staying true to yourself and things that feel-good to you. And this allows me to remind myself that my only job is to be truthful to myself, for no one but myself.
