GNOD have a new album on the way, titled Hexen Valley.
Spanning six tracks, the new record came about from Paddy Shine of GNOD’s relocation to Hebden Bridge last summer, where he joined fellow group members Chris Haslam and Jesse Webb in a co-op house at the 200-year-old Nutclough Tavern. Alongside another Nutclough resident in guitarist Richard Chamberlain, the group set out on a process of intensive jamming at the Hebden Bridge Underground rehearsal studio, where, a press release explains, "certain distinct songs and themes began to emerge." The new album, available for pre-order via Rocket Recordings’ Bandcamp page, arrives swiftly off the back of the prolific group’s last record, La Mort Du Sens, which was released in November.
Above, you can watch a video, made by US animator John-Mark Lapham, for album opener ‘Bad Apple’, premiering exclusively via tQ. The track is described by Rocket Recordings as "an entirely spontaneous piece of in-studio magic which evolved from a spidery guitar line of Chamberlain[‘s]."
Rocket Recordings will release Hexen Valley on April 1, 2022.
