Kathryn Joseph and Anna Phoebe will perform at the special one-off event overlooking the Cornish cliffside this May

The Minack Theatre in Porthcurno, Cornwall, will host a special one-off event this May featuring musicians Kathryn Joseph and Anna Phoebe, as well as poet Rachael Allen.

Sea Dreams, scheduled for May 20, will make full use of the theatre's unique surroundings, with the venue overlooking the Cornish cliffside and Atlantic Ocean beyond it. (You can get an idea of the stunning setting via the image above.) Curated by arts and events producer Kirsteen McNish, Sea Dreams looks, a press release explains, to honour "both the place the sea holds in our creative imagination, and the indomitable spirit of the [Minack Theatre's] founder, Rowena Cade, whose work is bound to the sea, the rocks and the landscapes inherent rhythms."

Speaking about her involvement in the event, which will follow the release of her just-announced new album For You Who Are The Wronged, Kathryn Joseph said in a statement: "To be part of something as beautiful as this in a place I've wanted to visit in real life for many years, and never imagined I would get to play at, is overwhelming. To perform this close to the sea is already making my heart swell. Water and the sea are interwoven in so many of the songs I write and is always the place I go to feel better."

Ahead of the event, tQ is offering a chance to win a pair of tickets. Only those aged over 18 can attend, and we are unfortunately unable to offer travel and accommodation as part of the competition. To enter, please simply register your interest by sending an email with the subject line 'SeaDreams90' to christian@thequietus.com. Entry will close on March 23.
