A statement shared by the band describes the discrepancy as "incorrect and insulting"

My Bloody Valentine have issued a statement via social media, in which they complain about what they describe as "incorrect and insulting" lyrics that have been shared for their music via Spotify.

"Just noticed that Spotify has put fake lyrics up for our songs without our knowledge," they said in a post on Twitter. "These lyrics are actually completely incorrect and insulting. We're not sure where they got them from, probably one of those bullshit lyrics sites on the internet." The lyrics appear to have been removed from Spotify at the time of writing, though they remain on Musixmatch, the site that Spotify is partnered with for lyrics integration.

My Bloody Valentine's back catalogue was first made available via streaming services early last year, with the band signing a deal with Domino that saw much of their work also get the reissue treatment.
