Tangerine Dream Detail New Album, ‘Raum’

It's the group's second full-length release since the death of founding member Edgar Froese

Tangerine Dream are lining up a new album for release early next year.

Raum, which takes in seven cuts, is the group’s second full-length album since the passing of founding member Edgar Froese in 2015, with the group making full use of access to his archives, spanning the years 1977 to 2013, while working on the record. The album sees remaining members Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane and Paul Frick working together, while also drawing from Froese’s Cubase arrangements and Otari tapes.

The album follows on from the release in November of an EP, Probe 6-8, which included the title track from their new full-length record. The band will follow the release of Raum with a UK tour in February.

Kscope will release Raum on February 25, 2022.
