Sunn O))) are releasing a new live album, Metta, Benevolence – BBC 6Music : Live On The Invitation Of Mary Anne Hobbs.

Comprised of three pieces, the album was recorded during an October 2019 performance at the BBC's Maida Vale studios, at the invitation of BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Mary Anne Hobbs. The recording session took place when the band were fresh from an extensive tour in support of 2019's Life Metal and Pyroclasts albums. Anna von Hausswolff and her band had supported Sunn O))) on the UK leg of that tour, and von Hausswolff joined Sunn O))) in the Maida Vale studios on synths and vocals for the BBC radio session, with her contributions featuring on Metta, Benevolence.

The live album will be released digitally and on CD later this month, with a 2xLP release scheduled for January 28, 2022. You can watch a visual teaser for the new album, which takes in an excerpt of the recording of 'Troubled Air', above.
