The fifth release in Partisan Records' reissue campaign is co-curated by Femi Kuti and Coldplay's Chris Martin

Partisan Records has shared details of the fifth box set in its ongoing Fela Kuti reissue series.

The latest collection, which is due out in December, has been co-curated by Kuti’s son and musician Femi Kuti, alongside Coldplay’s Chris Martin. It includes full reissues of Why Black Man Dey Suffer (1971), Excuse O (1975), Noise For Vendor Mouth (1975), Kalakuta Show (1976), Ikoyi Blindness (1976), Original Sufferhead (1984) and Overtake Don Overtake Overtake (1989).

The set also includes a 20-page booklet featuring previously unpublished photos and in-depth commentaries on each album included within the release and more.

Before the release of the next box set, Partisan Records is reissuing two albums by Kuti from 1971, to mark their 50th anniversary, in November: London Scene and Live! With Ginger Baker.

Partisan Records will release Fela Kuti – Box Set #5 on December 10, 2021.
