Jessy Lanza Details ‘DJ-Kicks’ Compilation

She's also shared a new collaboration with Loraine James, which features on the mix

Jessy Lanza will mix the next instalment of the long-running DJ-Kicks compilation series.

Out in November, Lanza says she put together the mix "in pursuit of the bleary 4am feeling." Her contribution to the series features music from a number of her friends and collaborators, as well as acts such as The Raining Heart and Lolina. Lanza has also included a number of new tracks from herself on the mix, including a collaboration with Loraine James, called ‘Seven 55’, which you can watch a video for above. Find the mix’s full tracklist via !K7’s website.

Speaking about the track and video in a statement, Lanza said: "I wrote ‘Seven 55’ about a close friend and his inability to commit. I fantasised about the women caught in his web and wrote ‘Seven 55’ from their point of view. I think it’s important to face a nightmare head on so what better place than Las Vegas to shoot the video for a song about longing and denial. In the video, [director] Winston [H Case] captures people in liminal spaces in limbo between destinations during their weekend in Vegas."

!K7 will release Jessy Lanza’s DJ-Kicks on November 19, 2021.
