Jlin Reveals New EP For Planet Mu, ‘Embryo’

The Indiana producer describes the record's four tracks as "exercises in trying to get out of my own head"

Jlin is lining up a new EP for Planet Mu.

Set for release in December, the four-track Embryo EP sees the producer combining the footwork of past records with mutant strains of techno. She describes the tracks as "exercises in trying to get out of my own head," adding that she "wrote all these pieces in between commissions and trying to stay afloat mentally." The EP comes ahead of the release of a new album from Jlin, which is currently in the works. You can listen to Embryo‘s title track – which was originally written for the Chicago-based new music ensemble Third Coast Percussion, who will release their version of the composition on Cedille Records in May 2022 – just below.

Planet Mu will release Embryo on December 10, 2021.
