Duval Timothy And Rosie Lowe Collaborate On New Album, ‘Son’

The album is inspired by the two artists' love of choral music

Duval Timothy and Rosie Lowe are releasing a first collaborative album, Son.

Set to be released through Timothy’s own Carrying Colour label, the nine-track album is inspired by the two artists’ love of choral music, and was recorded in London and Freetown between 2019 and 2021. It follows on from the release in 2020 of Timothy’s last album Help, as well as a reissue of his 2016 record Brown Loop. Alongside Son‘s announcement, Timothy and Lowe have shared the album’s title track, which you can listen to above.

In a statement about the record, the duo said: "We were interested in bringing our surroundings into the recordings; leaving doors open, recording in different spaces and locations, inviting the listener to experience the life that was going on around us whilst capturing the process."

Carrying Colour will release Son on November 12, 2021.
