Fugees Reunite For First Live Shows In 15 Years

The trio will tour across three continents to celebrate the 25th anniversary of hit album 'The Score'

Fugees are reuniting for their first live shows in 15 years.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their second and final studio album, The Score, Wyclef Jean, Ms. Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel will head out on a run of 12 dates for their first world tour in 25 years. The tour kicks off tomorrow (September 22) with an intimate, pop-up show at an as-yet undisclosed location in New York City.

The rest of the tour kicks off on November 2, and will take them to Chicago, Oakland, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami, Newark, Washington, Paris, London, Nigeria (city not yet revealed) and Ghana (city also not revealed) in that order, finishing on December 18.

The first public performance by the group following their reunion will take place in support of Global Citizen Live, a global broadcast event calling on world leaders to defend the planet and defeat poverty, which will air online on September 25. The group have also established a charitable fund to partner with Global Citizen on philanthropic initiatives around the tour. You can find more information about that project here.

Speaking about the reunion and Fugees’ charitable commitments, Ms. Lauryn Hill says: "The Fugees have a complex but impactful history. I wasn;t even aware the 25th anniversary had arrived until someone brought it to my attention. I decided to honour this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world."

Wyclef Jean adds: "As I celebrate 25 years with the Fugees, my first memory was that we vowed, from the gate, we would not just do music, we would be a movement. We would be a voice for the un-heard, and in these challenging times, I am grateful once again, that God has brought us together."

Tickets for most of the shows will go on sale this Friday (September 24) at 10am local time. Find more information here.
