Various Artists - Saturday Night Fever (The Original Movie Sound Track)

As a youngster listening to music in the 70s, I didn’t know anything about soundtracks. I first heard ‘Disco Inferno’ on the radio. Then I heard ‘Disco Duck'. I didn’t know they were from a soundtrack, I’d never seen the movie. When I did, aged about 17 or 18, I recognised all the songs and fell in love with the soundtrack. If the film is ever on with no commercial breaks, I’ll watch it again.

After I graduated from high school, I started dating this young lady, Felicia. That’s when I started to collect records. One day I walked into her house, and I saw the album. “Hey, can I use that?” When she next came round my house, she brought it and I played everything on it. I’ve still got it. Good, classic disco songs. One of my favourites is the Bee Gees’ ‘How Deep Is Your Love’. That was nice. My track ‘Red Hot’ samples something off of here.
