Lotic To Release New Album, ‘Water’

The US producer's first album for Houndstooth is due out in October

Lotic has a new album, Water, on the way.

Due out on Houndstooth in October, the nine-track album marks the producer’s first full-length release for fabric’s in-house label, having first signed with the imprint last year and released the tracks ‘Burn A Print’ and ‘Cocky’. (She released her debut album, Power, through Tri Angle in 2018.) "This is the record I always wanted to write," Lotic says of her new album," adding that it "feels like my arrival as an artist."

A video for the album’s lead track ‘Come Unto Me’ can be viewed above. Speaking about the video, Lotic says: "1.8 million Africans died on the Middle Passage; their bodies were thrown into the Atlantic. Had their cells been able to adapt to this new ecosystem, and thrive and multiply, perhaps a glorious new culture and history would have been possible."

Houndstooth will release Water on October 29, 2021.
