The first Squarepusher track I heard was ‘Port Rhombus’ and I can’t think of a better example of the type of tune that will pique my interest - I’m pretty sure this first encounter was back in ‘96 or maybe ‘97, and since then, listening to his music and seeing him play live has been a massive source of absolute awe, wonder and inspiration to me.

During my final and favourite year of university Selection Sixteen was released the year before, and Music is Rotted One Note were on a constant rotation. Also, whenever I think about travelling on the London Underground, I always think of various tracks on Ultravisitor. I must have listened to that album a lot whilst commuting. The first time I heard ‘Iambic 9 Poetry’ I got mad goosebumps, and that still happens when I listen today. It’s just one of those tracks that will never fail to make me smile and has the power to change my mood for the better, I love it.
