Jarvis Cocker Covers The Fall For New Release

His cover of 'Big New Prinz' features on a forthcoming various artists release from Todmorden-based label Golden Lion Sounds

Jarvis Cocker has committed his cover of The Fall’s 1988 track ‘Big New Prinz’ to record for a new vinyl-only release from Todmorden label Golden Lion Sounds.

The cover is one of four tracks that features on GLS00X, with the label having approached a number of "celebrity and musician friends for donations" to help kick-start a new run of records. Elsewhere on the record, there are tracks from Meatraffle, David Holmes & Raven Violet, and Caia & Dylan Carney.

Not much other information is available on the release as yet, but it’s available to pre-order via Golden Lion Sounds’ website.

Cocker’s cover of ‘Big New Prinz’ is one of a number of cover versions he and his JARV IS… band were filmed performing last year for an exhibition about dancer and choreographer Michael Clark at London’s Barbican.

Golden Lion Sounds will release GLS00X in October 2021.
