The organisers of Barcelona’s Primavera Sound have revealed that next year’s edition of the festival will take place across two weekends, to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The festival will take place across 11 days, with the action at its main Parc del Fòrum site taking place across the weekends of June 2 to 4, and June 9 to 11, 2021. Between that, over 150 concerts are scheduled to take place across various venues in Barcelona, and celebrations will conclude with a beach event with live music on June 12.
Majorcan band Antònia Font are the first act to be confirmed to play at next year’s festival. The band are reuniting for the appearance, having split in 2013. The rest of the lineup will begin to be unveiled from Tuesday (May 25), with over 400 artists promised across the 11 days of next year’s event.
Primavera Sound’s decision to extend its duration next year follows on from the enforced cancellation of both the festival’s 2020 and 2021 editions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Primavera Sound will take place from June 2 to 12, 2022. Find more information here.
