Kevin Martin To Release New Score For 1972 Film ‘Solaris’

'Return To Solaris' will be released in June

Kevin Martin, AKA The Bug, is releasing his own interpretation of the score for Andrei Tarkovsky’s 1972 film, Solaris.

Out in June, and set to be released under the producer’s full name of Kevin Richard Martin, Return To Solaris is his first soundtrack. You can listen to the first taste of the album, ‘In Love With A Ghost’, just below.

The project has come about from a one-off performance Martin gave at the Vooruit Arts Centre in Ghent last May. He was invited to score a film for the performance and Solaris, he says, was the "natural choice." Having completed the album, the film was screened twice at the same venue in October with Martin’s new score.

Kevin Martin has been prolific over the last year or so, releasing two albums as Kevin Richard Martin last June to launch his own label Intercrannial Recordings, as well as sharing a collaborative album with Dis Fig under his The Bug moniker.

Phantom Limb will release Return To Solaris on June 25, 2021.
