Loscil has shared details of a new album, Clara.
The successor to 2019’s Equivalents, this new record will be released via long-time label home Kranky. You can listen to lead track ‘Vespera’ above.
The sounds on Clara are sourced from a single three-minute composition performed by a 22-piece string orchestra in Budapest. The recording was then lathe-cut on to a 7" vinyl, which was "scratched and abused to add texture and colour." The ambient producer then sampled and shaped the sounds from that into the final album.
Kranky will release Clara on May 28, 2021.
