Godspeed You! Black Emperor have announced a new album, G_d’s Pee AT STATE’S END!
Set for release next month, it’s the Canadian band’s first album since 2017’s Luciferian Towers. The new record is comprised of four tracks: two extended 20-minute pieces and two shorter six-minute cuts. You can watch a short teaser video above.
"We wrote it on the road mostly, when that was still a place," a statement attributed to the band says. "And then recorded it in masks later, distanced at the beginning of the second wave."
The album sees GY!BE combine field recordings with their usual cast of instruments, and was recorded with Montreal-based indie producer Jace Lasek. Find the band’s full statement about the record here.
