Bandcamp Has Been Blocked In China

Like a number of other foreign sites, it can now only be accessed in the country via a VPN

Access to Bandcamp has been restricted in China as a result of government regulations.

Early reports of the censorship emerged last week, and the block was later confirmed by Great Fire, an organisation which monitors online censorship in the country. In order to access Bandcamp in China, online users must now have a VPN in order to bypass the censorship and anonymously browse the Internet, with Bandcamp joining other blocked websites such as Facebook, Google and Netflix.

A number of record labels and artists based in China have confirmed the block to Resident Advisor, though Shanghai-based producer Swimful noted that it "won’t change anything" as many people in the country already use VPNs.
