Tomaga To Release Final Album, ‘Intimate Intensity’

The duo worked on the album before the death last year of member Tom Relleen

Tomaga will release their final album this March.

Intimate Intensity is set for release following the death last August of Tom Relleen, who formed one-half of the duo alongside percussionist Valentina Magaletti. "We rushed to master the album in his final days because the release was important to him," Magaletti told tQ last August in the days after Relleen’s passing from stomach cancer.

The ten-track album, which is Tomaga’s eight full-length, takes in Buchla, field recordings, Mellotron and contributions from Cathy Lucas, violinist Agathe Max, and Martin Tomlinson. The record was recorded at Relleen’s house, and was inspired by the likes of filmmaker and author Kenneth Anger and philosopher Gaston Bachelard. You can watch a video for the album’s title track above.

Hands In The Dark will release Intimate Immensity on March 26, 2021.
