Special Interest To Release ‘The Passion Of’ Remix Album

Boy Harsher and DJ Haram are among the artists who've remixed tracks from the New Orleans group's latest album

Special Interest will kick off 2021 with the release of a remix album for their latest LP, The Passion Of.

Due to be released digitally, The Passion Of: Remixed includes 12 remixes of tracks from the album by artists such as Boy Harsher, DJ Haram and w00dy. The New Orleans-based band will also release a 12" single of The Passion Of track ‘Street Pulse Beat’, backed by remixes. You can listen to Boy Harsher’s take on ‘Street Pulse Beat’, which will feature on the digital album and 12" single, above.

"This remix of ‘Street Pulse Beat’ came from the depths of springtime lockdown," Boy Harsher says. "In a bleak and uncertain world, Special Interest were keeping our creative spirit alive. This remix was made entirely with the OB-6, SH-101, and the JV-1080."

All proceeds from sales of the two releases will go to House Of Tulip, an organisation which was co-founded and is currently co-led by two Black transgender women, and helps trans and gender-nonconforming communities in New Orleans with economic stability and safety through zero barrier permanent housing and routes to education, healthcare and employment.

Special Interest’s The Passion Of recently featured at the number three spot in our list of our favourite albums of 2020.

Nude Club will release The Passion Of: Remixed and Street Pulse Beat on January 8, 2021.
