Gary, Indiana Share New Track, ‘Nike Of Samothrace’

They've also signed to Fire Talk Records

Manchester band Gary, Indiana have shared a new track, ‘Nike Of Samothrace’.

The track, which you can watch the video for above, marks the New Weird Britain-adjacent group’s signing to Fire Talk Records, and comes off the back of previous tracks ‘Pashto’ and ‘Berlin’, which were reminiscent of the sort of scuzzy, rhythmic racket being made by the magnificent Special Interest crashing into early Mclusky or Liars, with Valentine Caulfield sing-speaking in her native French over the top.

Speaking about the new track, Gary, Indiana say: "We wanted ‘Nike Of Samothrace’ to be like a blunt instrument, both lyrically and musically. It’s purely brute force, gouging away with all dials turned up full, including the guttural bass line, which was inspired by Thomas Bangalter’s score for Irreversible and Hans Zimmer’s score for Blade Runner 2049. We’re very much driven by rhythm and movement and also wanted to experiment with a Liquid Liquid style percussive breakdown, we love when genres and dynamics are smashed together in an untidy way… we love to butcher things."

‘Nike Of Samothrace’ is out now on Fire Talk.
