The London club has Jamie xx on board for a fundraising event as it faces closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Corsica Studios has launched a fundraising support campaign with help from Jamie xx.

As part of the Passport: Back to Our Roots project, Jamie xx will perform a one-off, intimate show at Corsica Studios once real events can happen in the UK, post-social-distancing. For a small donation, fans, and those who want to support the venue, can have the chance of attending the gig when it happens.

The xx producer and beatmaker has played the Elephant & Castle venue a number of times in the past, including for promoter Trouble Vision's 2010 NYE party and a back-to-back DJ set with Caribou for Boiler Room the following year.

Corsica Studios and Jamie xx are two of a number of figures taking part in the Passport: Back to Our Roots project, which is aiming to raise money for grassroots music venues around the UK which are under threat of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Find out more about the wider campaign here, and support Corsica Studios to be in with a chance of attending the Jamie xx event here.

Yesterday (September 24), Chancellor Rishi Sunak revealed his Winter Economy Plan, which includes the introduction of a new jobs scheme to replace the current furlough scheme. Sunak's plans came under heavy criticism from figures across the music industry, with many saying that it will result mass redundancies and venue closures across the country.
