Oumou Sangare - Worotan
This album was special not only because I got to be involved as a guitarist with Oumou but also because I was able to see the thought and effort that went into it and how much it captured her essence. It’s theatrical without being contrived, and is why Oumou Sangare is one of the best singers to come out of Mali and one of my favourite singers, period. She has such an understated power in her voice and this majestic elegance as person.
