Paisiel, the collaborative project of João Pais Filipe and Julius Gabriel, have shared details of their second release for Rocket Recordings.
Coming two years on from their self-titled debut album, which was initially released by Lovers & Lollypops and later given a wider release by Rocket, Unconscious Death Wishes is comprised of one continuous near-40-minute piece. Above, you can watch a video for a three-minute excerpt of the record, which has been put together by Portuguese collective Espectro Visível.
Unconscious Death Wishes follows on from the release of respective solo projects this year by both members of the duo, as well as João Pais Filipe’s record with GNOD, Faca De Fogo, which was also released by Rocket earlier this year.
The new album, Rocket Recordings says, was laid down live in the studio by the duo and subject only to minimal edits and the addition at the piece’s intro and outro of some field recordings from Porto and Berlin. Gabriel describes the process of working on the record as "instant composition."
A limited LP edition of the album will be made available for pre-order via Bandcamp from this Friday (September 4) to coincide with this month’s Bandcamp fee-waive day.
Rocket Recordings and Lovers & Lollypops will release Unconscious Death Wishes on October 23, 2020.
