Avalon Emerson is behind the next instalment in !K7’s DJ-Kicks compilation series.
2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the series, and Emerson’s set takes in a number of new productions of her own, including ‘Wastelands & Oases’ which you can listen to just below.
Alongside four brand new track credited to Emerson, including a cover of The Magnetic Fields’ ‘Long Forgotten Fairytale’, and some additional personal edits, Emerson’s entry into the DJ-Kicks series takes in tracks from The Knife’s Olof Dreijer under his Oni Ayhun alias, General Midi, and Berlin-based producer Soundstream. "I wanted it to be representative of how I sound in the club while incorporating new original music," Emerson says of her mix. "I thought of it as a good opportunity to summarise the last few years of DJing for me and share my original productions, covers and remixes."
!K7 will release Avalon Emerson’s DJ-Kicks on September 18, 2020.
