'Sisters With Transistors', which is narrated by Laurie Anderson, will premiere later this year

A new documentary is set to explore the story and work of a number of electronic music's early women pioneers.

Sisters With Transistors is a project from London-based filmmaker Lisa Rovner, and includes narration by Laurie Anderson. Using archive footage, it sets out a new history in early electronic music through the lens of its leading female visionaries, focusing on the likes of Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Bebe Barron, Pauline Oliveros, Delia Derbyshire, Maryanne Amacher, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel.

Sisters With Transistors is set to debut at screenings in Sheffield this autumn, and will also be screened online as part of the Sheffield Doc/Fest Selects programme. Find more information here and watch a video teaser for the film here.
