Bill Callahan Announces New Album, ‘Gold Record’

One track from the record will be released every Monday between now and the album's release date later this year

Bill Callahan has announced the release of a new album, titled Gold Record.

Following on from last year’s Shepherd In A Sheepskin Vest, the new album is Callahan’s seventh since abandoning his Smog moniker in 2005, and his 18th in total. It was written while Callahan was touring his last LP, and recorded with a band that includes guitarist Matt Kinsey and bassist Jaime Zurverza, a departure from the acoustic-led Shepherd In A Sheepskin Vest.

Described by Drag City as an album of singles, one track from the record will be released every Monday between now and the album’s release date later this year.

Drag City will release Gold Record on September 4, 2020.
