Christian Eede , June 24th, 2020 15:08

The release will include a brand new album, titled 'Dreaming'

Michael Rother is releasing a new box set, featuring his first new album since 2004.

Titled Solo II, the box set will feature the German artist's previous solo albums Lust, Süssherz Und Tiefenschärfe, Traumreisen, Esperanza, and Remember (The Great Adventure), as well as a collection of bonus tracks and Dreaming, Rother's brand new album. The set will be released as a seven-disc CD box set, while there will also be a vinyl version of the new album.

"I had a goldmine of ideas – about seventy-five sketches, and I knew there were some gems in there," Rother says of writing Dreaming, which he recorded as Germany entered its COVID-19 lockdown.

"My routine every day became the same," Rother says of those lockdown recording sessions. "If I'd had concerts to play, these interruptions would have prevented me from focusing so deeply on this album. There's a lot of creative energy that needs expression, that needs to be channelled into something, and this was the right time."

Groenland will release Solo II on September 4, 2020.
