Sun Ra Arkestra Share First Studio Recording In Over 20 Years

A re-recorded version of 1979 piece 'Seductive Fantasy' is set to feature on a new album

Sun Ra Arkestra have shared their first new studio recording in over 20 years.

‘Seductive Fantasy’ originally featured on the Arkestra’s 1979 album On Jupiter, but has been re-recorded in the studio for a brand new album. You can hear the newly recorded take of ‘Seductive Fantasy’ above.

Full details of the Arkestra’s new album are yet to be revealed, but Strut, who will release the album, has revealed that it was recorded at the Rittenhouse Soundworks studio in Philadelphia.

The new album follows on from the release last year via Lanquidity Records of Sun Ra Arkestra – Live In Kalisz, a 1986 recording of the Arkestra’s first ever show in Poland.
