Owen Pallett has released a new album, titled Island.

The album, which is almost entirely acoustic, was recorded live at Abbey Road Studios with the London Contemporary Orchestra, while Pallett has also shared a video for lead track 'A Bloody Morning'. You can watch that above.

Conceived and directed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the video features dancers – ranging in age from 6 to 72 – who were filmed with no physical contact, entirely through windows and doorways, while lockdown and social distancing measures were in place.

"Honestly, at first I wasn't sold on the concept," Pallett says of the video. "I worried that the video would end up pornographing the quarantine, and I declined."

A press release explains though that Pallett was later convinced to go ahead with the idea by director Vincent René-Lortie's enthusiasm.

"I was floored [after seeing the near-final cut," Owen says. "I couldn't believe how cathartic it was to see the video, how perfectly it fit the song, and how meaningful and necessary it was for me to see it when I did."

Island is out now via Domino / Secret City Records.
